Lovers of Truth Cannot Be Bought

This month is the 24th anniversary of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party regime. This is my speech at their annual rally for freedom in China in Washington, DC, July 20, 2023.

Good afternoon, my friends. I am honored to be here on behalf of Katartismos Global, where I am the Director of Advocacy, and on behalf of the American Association of Evangelicals.

I admire and respect you for your courage and truth-telling. God is using Falun Dafa because of its commitment to compassion and tolerance, but most of all TRUTH, because without truth there can be no real compassion and tolerance. The compassion and tolerance that is based on the lies of Marxists, Communists, Socialists, and the CCP will fail, and will result in tragedy, as hundreds of millions of victims of Communism around the world have shown us. And we are beginning to see ominous foreshadows of this in this nation.

We know the evil plans that the CCP has for us — plans to destroy us and to take away our hope and our future. We know the brutality and torture used against Falun Gong practitioners, followers of Jesus Christ, and others. We know the horror of live organ harvesting and the forced abortions still going on. We know of the CCP’s evil practice of capturing other nations — East Turkestan, Tibet, Southern Mongolia, and Hong Kong. And trying to swallow up Taiwan and all of Africa and Latin America.

But that is another reason why I am so appreciative of Falun Gong and what great initiatives to expose the CCP have sprung from it. The moral goodness and truth of The Epoch Times and Epoch TV, with the only true journalists left, it seems. And as a Christian with billions of fellow believers around the world, I am so grateful that when other newspapers are ignoring the massacre of those who follow Jesus in Nigeria, or calling it a “clash” between farmers and herders, or saying it is happening because of climate change, The Epoch Times prints the truth. They report about the Nigerian Fulani jihadists’ plans to wipe out Christianity in Nigeria.

And finally, looking at the disastrous mistakes the US government has made with the CCP, I realize that what I admire MOST about Falun Dafa and other truth-tellers is that You will not be bought!

The Thrift Savings Plan that runs the Federal retirement funds — including for armed forces, active and veteran — is willing to transfer trillions of dollars of our soldiers’ pensions to Chinese companies building weapons that could some day kill our troops. TSP can be bought!

Hollywood bows the knee to the CCP and fears offending them — Hollywood can be bought!

Sports teams will not stand up for their own who protest the CCP’s human rights violations, like Enes Kanter Freedom. Sports teams can be bought!

Even Presidents and their offspring can sell their souls to the CCP for a big payoff. Exchanging the truth for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather than the Creator. World leaders can be bought!

But you, Falun Gong, and other people of faith, courage, and strength will not be bought!

Your strength and courage is making an impact. Courage is contagious. And light dispels darkness. So we stand together, and the darkness of the CCP and other demonic forces will never overcome our light.
